CHART NOTES

New at the top of the chart this week is Noah & the Whale with their single "Tonight's the Kind of Night". The song has been making a steady climb up this chart where it was at #2 last week before nudging past Lady Gaga's "The Edge of Glory" to take the #1 spot. "Glory" drops one to #2 this week.

Holding at #3 is The Cars with their former #1 hit "Sad Song". Moving up to #4 is Hot Chelle Rae with "Tonight Tonight". Dengue Fever slips one from #4 to #5 with their former #1 hit "Cement Slippers."

Moving up the top 10 we see Coldplay gaining 4 positions with their newest single "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall", moving from #10 to #6. Katy Perry leaps into the top 10, moving up 5 positions from #13 to #8 with "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)". Two point movers in the top 10 include The Script with "For the First Time" up from #11 to #9, and "Deer in the Headlights" up from #12 to #10 by Owl City.

Moving down the chart, we see Lady Antebellum losing 4 points going down from #7 to #11 with "Just a Kiss". They follow Martin Solveig & Dragonette down with their former #1 hit "Hello" at #12. Not to worry the Solveig/Dragonette team debut with an old song at #20 called "Boys & Girls". The track is from 2009, but is new to me having only learned and heard it starting in mid April. After 22 plays in iTunes it breaks into the Weekly Top 20. It is the only song to debut this week.

The big plunge award goes to Kate Voegele, who sputtered up the chart this past weeks with "Heart in Chains", a track off her new Gravity album. The sputtering stopped at #9 last week. The song drops 10 big points to #19 this week. Looks like a goner by next week.
