CHART NOTES

Paul McCartney top sthe chart this week with "Find My Way." It's the first single off his new album McCartney III. He is the first of two former Beatles on the chart. Ringo Starr moves up from #14 to #12 with "Here's To the Nights." It's a star studded single featuring former bandmate Paul as well as other familiar faces.

At #2 is a holder on from last year. "Tick Tock" by Clean Bandit featuring 24kGoldn & Mabel moves up one spot from #3 to #2. It was at #2 in December 2020, and made it to the Top 100 Songs of the Year at position #30. I just love the song and the video is cool.

Country star Blake Shelton debuts at #19 with "Minimum Wage." Newcomer to the charts, Olivia Rodrigo makes her debut with "Driver's License" coming in at #20. Olivia has gotten a lot of "buzz" lately. She may be the breakout artist of 2021.

Best new video is "Realize" by AC/DC. A great rock anthem now has a great cutting edge, high contrast band performance video in black and white. Very nice. The song is at #13 up from #16 last week.

CHART NOTES: Taylor Swift holds at #1 for the third consecutive week with her hit "Willow". The track taken from the Evermore album is one of two songs on the chart from it this week. The other is "No Body, No Crime" which bolts from last week's debut of #18 to #8 this week. The track also features the group HAIM.

Paul McCartney moves up three points to claim the #2 position with "Find My Way", the debut single off the album McCartney III.

Pale Waves seem to be riding high as "Change" from their upcoming album Who Am I? It's a good pop alt rock song that moves from #14 to #9.

Three songs make their chart debut. Harry Styles' latest "Treat People With Kindness" checks in at #18, Justin Bieber is at #19 with "Anyone" and the Foo Fighters are at #20 with "No Son of Mine".

I have high hopes that the new, upcoming Foo Fighters album Medicine at Midnight will be a great pop-rock masterpiece. Three songs have been released in advance of the album's debut.

Mel's Current Top 20 - Week of January 10, 2021.

Starting this week, I will be posting the Current Top 20 chart to this blog every weekend. The charts are published to the Current Top 20 chart pages usually on Thursday evenings. This is the tabled version of the chart.

NOTES: Taylor Swift holds the #1 spot for a 2nd consecutive week with "Willow". It was the first single released from her second album release of 2020, Evermore. New on the chart at #18 is "No Body No Crime" by Taylor Swift from the same album.

Taylor Swift is not the only artist with two songs on the chart. AC/DC have two songs with "Shot in the Dark" still in the top 10, but moving downward from #6 to #9 after it peaked at #1 a few weeks back. New for AC/DC is "Realize" making its debut on the chart at #20. Both songs are from their current album Power Up.

Two Beatles: Paul McCartney's latest single "Find My Way" moves from #10 to #5 on the chart in its third week. The song is from his McCartney III album which came out on December 17, 2020. Ringo Starr has a new song that debuts at #19 this week. "Here's to the Nights" features Ringo and a bunch of his friends singing various parts on the new single. Check it out.
