CHART NOTES:

October has proven to be the month of #1 song comebacks. Last week we had Taylor Swift at #1 with "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", replacing PSY's "Gangman Style" which held #1 for 2 weeks, which took Swift's initial peak of #1 3 weeks before. Now we have an even older song re-entering at #1. Maroon 5 joins theTaylor Swift and Gotye club of #1 charting singles with the same song in non-consecutive weeks for 2012. And of course Maroon 5's big hit is "One More Night" which was last at #1 on September 23 holding the top at that time for 3 consecutive weeks. The record moves up from last week's #2 spot to #1 this week, making it a 4th week for "One More Night". Got that?

Maroon 5's "One More Night" has been holding on to #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart for several weeks now keeping PSY's "Gangman Style" out of #1 and stuck at #2 for those same weeks.

Still hanging in the top 5 we find The Noisettes at #3 with "That Girl" followed by Cher Lloyd at #4 with "Want U Back". Both singles move up a notch from last week. PSY and "Gangnam Style" drops 2 from #3 to #5. The song is still a worldwide hit despite its lower position on this chart.

New to the top 10 we find Adele and her hit single "Skyfall," at #10. The track is the latest title opener for the James Bond movie of the same name.

Fastest moving song in the top 20 is Rihanna's "Diamonds" up from #19 to #12 this week.
This week's lone debut record is Ellie Goulding's "Anything Could Happen" clocking in at #19. She has made a sort of comeback with last year's hit "Lights" that is getting a lot of airplay these days.

CHART NOTES:

PSY's "Gangnam Style" may be only a flash in the pan as the insanely popular K-Pop hit falls from last week's #1 position back to #3 this week. Taking PSY's place at the top of the chart is Taylor Swift who was there 2 weeks ago with "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together". Yep, she's at #1 for a second but non-consecutive week. This is the 2nd time this has happened this year where a song fell out of the #1 spot only to get back there again for a second round. The last song to do that was "Somebody That I Used to Know" by Gotye earlier this summer.

What is even more remarkable is that the #2 song moves up from #3... Maroon 5's "One More Night" which formerly peaked at #1 4 weeks ago is climbing up again. Wow.

Adele's hit single "Skyfall" moves up 5 from #18 last week to #13 this week. This is the title track from the latest James Bond movie coming to theaters next month. Good song.

Two songs make their debut this week. At #19 we find Rihanna on the chart again with her latest "Diamonds" checking in at #19. Following her, The Rolling Stones (yes, they are still making records) make a debut at #20 with "Doom and Gloom" the latest single off their newest compilation album Grrr!

CHART NOTES:

The top 5 positions stay exactly the same as it was last week with Psy leading the way again at #1 with his internationally famous "Gangnam Style" K-Pop hit.

Moving up 4 points from #10 to #6 we find Cher Lloyd with "Want U Back". Hot song.
Also moving into the top 10 at #8 is Toby Keith's country hit "I Like Girls That Drink Beer" up from #11.Florence and the Machine move up 2 from #12 to #10 with "Spectrum".

New to the Weekly Top 20 is Adele's "Skyfall", the latest in a long string of James Bond theme songs at #18; The Shins' "It's Only Life" at #19; and The Chevin at #20 with "Champion".

Big droppers of the week include "Good Time" by Owl City with Carly Rae Jepsen, down from last week's #7 to #15; Fun's "Some Nights" down from #8 last week to #16 this week. Looks like nearly exit time for those two former #1 songs. They both made a good chart run.

CHART NOTES:

K-Pop singer/rapper Psy's (real name Park Jae-sang) international smash hit "Gangnam Style" dances up the chart into the #1 spot. Last week "Gangnam Style" made a 16 point leap from its debut position of #19 to #3 and is now at #1. Took the song only 2 weeks to get to the top. Quite possibly a record for this chart.

Now let me say this: "Gangnam Style" is one of those records that is more than just a hit... it's a phenomenon. You will either love it to death or you will hate the song for the rest of your life. Like dance craze songs from years past (think "The Twist", "Mambo #5", "Electric Slide" and "The Macarena"), "Gangman Style" will be one of those songs everyone from 3 year olds to senior citizens will be dancing to for years to come. It'll turn up at weddings, birthday parties, and bar mitzvahs just like the macarena does. Already, many people all over the world know the song and have made knock off and parody videos. Just search YouTube under "Gangnam Style". A few of those videos appear below.

With Psy capturing the #1 slot this week, poor little Taylor Swift lost her grip there as "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" slips a spot and anchors the #2 position this week. Maroon 5 moves down a notch to #3, withNoisettes moving up from #5 to #4 with "That Girl" and Aerosmith moving into the #5 slot from #6 with "What Could Have Been Love".

Cher Lloyd's "Want You Back" moves into the top 10 at #10, up from #13 of last week.

Two songs make their chart debut. At #17 we find Christina Aguilera and her latest "Your Body" with newcomerTristan Prettyman at #20 with "My Oh My".
