CHART NOTES:

Bruno Mars is back on top with his second #1 hit of 2013. This time it's "Treasure" moving up from the #2 position. It's the latest single off his album Unorthodox Jukebox. He is probably the most successful pop music artist to come out of Hawaii. He's had several #1 records on this chart as well as the Billboard Hot 100.

What is the summer song of the year? Last year I think it was Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe". The song peaked at #1 on this chart and was always played on the radio throughout the entire summer and into fall. It's still popular today.

I would have to say that this year's "summer earworm" is Daft Punk's "Get Lucky". The song held the #1 slot on this chart for 6 weeks late this spring, but since falling out of the #1 spot it has only sunk to #3 where it has now been in a holding pattern for the past 4 weeks. The song has topped the charts seemingly everywhere and is widely played on the radio.

New in the top 10 we find John Newman's "Love Me Again" moving up 4 from #13 to #9. The song recently topped the charts in Britain on BBC Radio 1. Right behind Newman, we find Churchill's "The War Within'" moving up 1 from #11 to #10.

Debut records on the top 20... we got three of them this week. They include the latest by the boy band, One Direction. It's called "Best Song Ever" coming in at #18. The song is OK, but I would not call it "the best song ever". There are way too many other better songs.

Caro Emerald is back with her latest single. This one is called "Liquid Lunch" and makes its debut at #19. Emerald went to #1 earlier this year with "Tangled Up". Another artist who had a #1 hit on this chart is Ellie Goulding. She topped the chart the first week of this year with "Anything Could Happen." Now she's back on the top 20 with "Burn" making its entry at #20.
