CHART NOTES:
Nine weeks ago Blondfire debut at #20 with their single "Waves". Over the course of this time the song went from #20 to #14 to #10 to #6 and then inched its way up the top 5 to #4 to #3 and then parked itself at #2 for the past 2 weeks. This week the song climbs from #2 to #1, displacing Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" out of the top spot. How long with Blondfire's "Waves" hold at #1?
"Blurred Lines" could go back to #1. There is a remote possibility that Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" which held #1 for 6 weeks could spring from its #3 position to #1 again. More than likely though, I think Bruno Mars' latest single "Treasure" could move from this week's #4 to #1. That record went from #18 to #10 and now to #4. Where will it stop nobody knows...
On this week's chart most of the other records make incremental moves up the chart with a few like Barenaked Ladies "Boomerang" taking a significant drop (from #6 to #11).
Two songs debut: John Newman's "Love Me Again" marks the debut of this singer on the top 20 at #19. "Love Me Again" recently topped th UK's BBC1 and 2 radio charts. It's a good song that is, so far not getting much play here in America. The other song to debut this week at #20 is "Easy", the latest single by singer Sheryl Crow.
