CHART NOTES

Robin Thicke finally claims the #1 spot with his hit "Blurred Lines" taking over this week. The hit single has been stuck at #2 for the past 4 weeks after its debut at #18 only 5 weeks ago. Now the single which features Pharrell Williams on vocals too is at the top, replacing Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" which slips to #2 after holding the top spot for the past 6 weeks. How long will "Blurred Lines" stay on top or will "Get Lucky" return? The two tracks are probably the biggest hits on this chart this spring and early summer.

Don't rule out Selena Gomez whose hit "Come & Get It" climbs up 2 points from last week's #5 to #4. She could make it to the top. Holding Gomez off is also Blondfire's indie hit "Waves" which hovers at #3 for a second week. Rounding out the top 5 we find Fleetwood Mac moving into the #5 position with "Sad Angel". The song is up one point from last week's #6.

New to the top 10 we find "Boomerang" by Barenaked Ladies moving from #11 to #8, "Hero" by Family of the Year at #9 up from #12 and Cassadee Pope's "Wasting All These Tears" up from #15 to #10.

Chart debuts this week include Maroon 5 at #20 with "Love Somebody" and "There's No Going Back" by Sick Puppies at #19.

CHART NOTES:

Daft Punk rules the roost again at #1 for the 6th consecutive week with their single "Get Lucky". The song has topped the charts everywhere it seems, including iTunes, Amazon and various radio stations. It has yet to top Billboard. Still a good song and one that I like to hear over and over again.

"Get Lucky" has managed to keep Robin Thicke's hit "Blurred Lines" stuck at #2 now for the past 4 or so weeks. Will he ever make it to #1?

Blondfire moves up 1 from #4 to #3 with "Waves". This is a song that should definitely be getting more airplay. It is incredible that such a fine hit is getting no mainstream air at all. At least not in my part of the woods.
Selena Gomez moves up to #5 from #9 with "Come & Get It". Probably one of her best songs since "A Year Without Rain" topped the charts right here back in 2010.

Three new song debut on the chart. They include Carrie Underwood's "See You Again" at #18, Anna Kendrick's "Cups (Pitch Perfect's "When I'm Gone")" at #19 and Churchill's "The War Within'" at #20. In all another good week for music listening!

CHART NOTES

Daft Punk gets another lucky week at #1 as his hit "Get Lucky" featuring Pharrell Williams holds at #1 for the 5th consecutive week, thereby keeping Robin Thicke's hit "Blurred Lines" out of the top and stuck at #2 for a second week in a row. What will happen next week between these two uptempo, rather danceable hits?

Or could country music's Darius Rucker pull a surprise and move "Wagon Wheel" to the top spot? This week that song edges up another notch from #4 to #3. Rucker is followed by Blondfire and their hit "Waves" at #4, up from last week's #6. It's the best alternative rock song this year since Churchill's "Change" which this week fell off the chart.

A big jump this week for Selena Gomez. Her latest single "Come & Get It" leaps from last week's #19 debut position to #9 this week. That is a fast moving 10 point climb. She is headed for top 5 territory soon.

New on the chart this week is "Wasting All These Tears" by new country singer Cassadee Pope at #19 and "Pompeii" by Bastille at #20.

The rest of the chart contains the usual suspects that are either going up or down. This chart is also published at M4B Charts Central.

CHART NOTES

Daft Punk featuring Pharell Williams holds on to the top spot for the 4th week with their smash hit "Get Lucky". It is the coolest record this side of Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines", which holds at #2 for a 2nd week after jumping from #18 the previous week to the perch it now occupies. Holding also for a 2nd week at #3 is Taylor Swift with her latest single "22" off the Red album. Ms. Swift is the only artist this week to have 2 songs int he top 20, the second of which is "State of Grace" holding at #12 for a 2nd week.

New to the top 5 this week we find Darius Rucker's country-rock hit "Wagon Wheel" rolling into #4, up from #7 of last week. Passenger's "Let Her Go" climbs up one from #6 to #5 this week.

One of my favorite songs on the chart is Blondfire's "Waves" which jumps 4 from #10 to #6. Moving up 4 spots from #15 to #11 we find Fleetwood Mac's comeback single "Sad Angel".

Two songs make their chart debut this week. The first is by Selena Gomez who had a huge #1 hit on the Top 20 back in 2010 with "A Year Without Rain". This time she is on the chart as a solo artist without her backing band on the single "Come & Get It" which checks in for the first week at #19. Right behind her we find Family of the Year's "Hero" debuting at #20. How high these songs go, only time will tell.
