CHART NOTES:

We got a new song at #1. Caro Emerald moves up a point from last week's #2 position to take #1 with her latest single "Tangled Up". It is a song that so far, is gettng zero airplay here in the U.S. but is somewhat of a hit in the U.K. and parts of Europe. Ms. Emerald is from the Netherlands and has been a popular singer in Europe since at least 2009. She had a huge #1 hit on this chart back in 2010 when her first single, "Back It Up" held the #1 position for 3 weeks. She has since charted a few more times here with "A Night Like This" and "Stuck".

Bruno Mars, who recently topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, slips a point from last week's #1 record to #2 with "When I Was Your Man". It was Mars' 4th #1 hit on the Weekly Top 20 since his debut back in late 2010. Is Bruno Mars the next Michael Jackson? Time will tell.

The rest of the top 20 more or less maintains the status quo of last week with not too many songs moving up or down. Many songs have maintained the positions they were in last week. The only exception is Pink's latest single "Just Give Me a Reason" which breaks into the top 10 at #8 after moving up from #13 last week. This is the track that also feature's Fun's Nate Ruess.

Speaking of Fun, the band debuts with the week's only new record at #20. Their latest single "Why Am I The One" is the lone new entry to the chart this week. Good song and the 4th track to be released from Fun's albumSome Nights.

CHART NOTES:

Bruno Mars tops the chart for a 2nd consecutive week with his hit "When I Was Your Man".

Three point jumps: Caro Emerald tangoes her way to #2 (from #5) this week with her single "Tangled Up". Very catchy, danceable song for many. Not too far behind her is Mariah Carey, who had big hits in the 1990s with "Almost Home," a song that moves up 3 from last week's #9 to #6 this week. Also jumping up 3 notches isBon Jovi who moves "Because We Can" up from #11 last week to #8 this week.

Five Point Jump: Making an even larger gain, we find Pink and her single "Just Give Me a Reason" moving from last week's debut position of #18 to #13 this week. The song is a sold AC favorite that also features Nate Ruess from the band Fun, who had a #1 hit earlier this year with "Carry On". Pink has also appeared on this chart previously.

Three songs make their chart debuts. They include "Tonight I'm Getting Over You" by Carly Rae Jepsen @ #18; "Bruises" by Train featuring Ashley Moore @ #19; and "Don't Give Up on Me" by BigKids @ #20. Time will tell how far up the chart these go.

CHART NOTES:

Change at the top. And it's not by ChurchillBruno Mars finally breaks into the #1 spot this week with his latest hit "When I Was Your Man" off his latest album Unorthodox Jukebox. Mars who is originally from Hawaii has enjoyed a string of #1 hits on this chart that started in late 2010 with his hit "Just the Way You Are". That song was followed by "Grenade", "It Will Rain" and most recently "Locked Out of Heaven". A friend of mine recently compared Mars to the late Michael Jackson. While he may not have all the moves of Jackson, his musical versatility over the past few years has shown that this guy is talented. Growing up in Hawaii he was featured as a mini version of Elvis Presley as a child performer and also did a Michael Jackson routine.

Churchill's "Change" slips a notch after 7 weeks at #1 and is now at #2. Ivan and Alyosha climb from #5 to #3 with "Running For Cover". Caro Emerald makes a 4 point jump and ends up in the top 5 at #5, up from #9 with "Tangled Up". That is one of the best dance songs to come out in recent years. I love Caro Emerald's retro pop music.

Of Monsters and Men hold at #6 for a second week with "Little Talks".

Mariah Carey breaks into the top 10 at #9 with "Almost Home," up from #12 last week. Demi Lovato enters the top 10 at #10 with "Heart Attack", up from last week's #11.

The View moves their jangly rock n roll song "The Clock" up from #17 to #12. They're just behind Bon Joviwho is at #11 with "Because We Can". Both songs do rock music justice.

New entries to the top 20 include Pink with "Just Give Me a Reason" at #18. On this single Ms. Pink is paired with Nate Ruess the lead singer of the group Fun who recently hit #1 with "Carry On" and "Some Nights" in the past 12 months. Taylor Swift also debuts this week at #19 with her latest "22" off the Redalbum.
