CHART NOTES:

Taylor Swift enters the #1 spot this week with her latest single, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", up from last week's #2 position. The song took only 3 weeks to get to #1. It debut at #11, moved to #3, moved to #2 and now it's at #1.

However, it looks like Taylor Swift's reign at #1 could be short lived. Hot on the charts this week is K-Pop singerPSY who zooms up the top 20 with his international smash hit "Gangnam Style" from last week's debut position of #19 to #3 this week. Yikes! This is a 16 leap from practically out of nowhere into striking distance of #1. "Gangnam Style" is one of those records that is more than just a hit... it's a phenomenon with a popular made-in-Korea video that has gotten more than 260,000,000 views on YouTube and a slew of knock-off and tribute videos to boot. Just way too many.

Last week I thought Aerosmith had a good possibility of going all the way to the top with "What Could Have Been Love". This week the song moves up another 3 points from #8 to #6, just a two point move compared to last week's 10 point leap from #18 to #8.

Making two point climbs into the top 5 we also find Noisettes at #5 with "That Girl" (up from #7) and Phillip Phillips' hit "Home" up from #6 to #4.

Moving into the top 10 we find Miss Li with "My Heart Goes Boom" up 1 from #11 to #10. The song is a hit only on this chart and seemingly nowhere else. It's got a good video. She is followed by Bahamas' single "Caught Me Thinking" which stays at #9 for a second week in a row.

Several songs drop this week including Owl City's "Good Time", Fun's "Some Nights" and TobyMac's "Me Without You". All are gradually going downhill. No Doubt's "Settle Down" and Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away" are spending their last week on the top 20 this week.

New to the Weekly Top 20 are two songs: "Too Close" by Alex Care debuts at #19 while Matt Cardle's latest single "It's Only Love" comes in at #20.

CHART NOTES

Maroon 5 holds at #1 for the 3rd week with their smash hit "One More Night". Taylor Swift is up 1 from last week's #3 to #2 with her big hit "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together". Most of the songs in the top 6 move down a small notch or stay in the same position as last week. Not going to mention titles here... just look at the chart.

Shooting up from its debut at #18 last week to #8 this week, is Aerosmith's hard rock power ballad "What Could Have Been Love". The song leaped 10 points into the top 10 this week. Will it go all the way to the top? No one knows... not even me.

The rest of the chart sees inclemental action up or down a few points with downers dropping more than songs going up higher. Noisettes move up 2 from #9 to #7 with "That Girl". TobyMac moves into the top 10 at #10 with "Me Without You".

This week marks the debut of the most interesting dance track to hit the top 20 this year. All the way from South Korea, we find Psy and his hit "Gangnam Style" making its debut at #19 this week. The song and video is already an internet sensation all over the world, with one of the most popular videos on YouTube. You can watch that just below these paragraphs right here on the top 20.

The other debut song this week is by Florence + The Machine... here we see "Spectrum" debuting at #20.

VIDEO SHOWCASE: The Noisettes

Their curent hit, "That Girl" is at #7 this week. So far no official music video for it, but we do have others in this Noisettes showcase.

Winner

"Winner" was the first single released from The Noisettes album, "Contact". If music was still released on vinyl 45, this song would be on the B-side of "That Girl" as it was released as a 2-song single for a short time on Amazon.com. Strangely, that single has been withdrawn and the album is currently available only as an expensive $27 import CD. What's up with that????

BTW, "Winner" is a good song and should also be a single in its own right (as it apparently has been in Europe).

Never Forget You (Last FM Session)

"Never Forget You" went to #1 in 2009 right here on the Weekly Top 20.

After the clip plays, all of the tracks from the album play too.

CHART NOTES:

"One More Night" is again the #1 song for the 2nd week in a row. This track is the 2nd for Maroon 5 to go to #1 this year. They did it earlier with "Payphone" which stayed on top for at least 3 weeks earlier this summer. Both tracks can be found on their latest album Overxposed.

Owl City holds at #2 with their former #1 track, "Good Time". That is the one that pairs the band up with Carly Rae Jepsen.

Leaping into the #3 spot up 9 from #12 is Taylor Swift's latest hit "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together". It's the song's 2nd week on the Weekly Top 20 and it is almost assured to hit #1 soon.

Further down in the top 10 we find The Noisettes moving into the 10 with their latest, "That Girl" up 2 from #11 last week at #9. Right behind them we find Bahamas holding at #10 for a second week. I like his casual Jack Johnson style track on this. Too bad it is not more widely played or even charted. It's a good record.

Three songs make their chart debuts.... Veteran hard rockers Aerosmith are back on the chart with their newest single "What Could Have Been Love" at #18. They're followed by Cher Lloyd and "Want You Back" at #19. The latest country hit from Toby Keith also makes it to the Top 20.... "I Like Girls That Drink Beer" is in the same tradition as this year's earlier #1 hit "Red Solo Cup".... another party song for Keith that makes its debut at #20.

And that folks is a wrap on this week's hits.

CHART NOTES:

Maroon 5 takes over the #1 spot for the 2nd time this year with their latest single "One More Night". The track is from their latest album, Overxposed which was released last month. "One More Night" zoomed up this chart and hit the top in only 4 weeks. It debut at #18 then moved to #10 and last week it was #3. This week it's #1. Will it stay there for a long time?

That's the question of the hour since we have a very strong and high debuting single this week. Yes, Taylor Swift's latest pop country single "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" makes its entry into the Weekly Top 20 at #12. It is the highest debuting song of the week and possibly of the year so far. The song is already #1 on a number of charts throughout the world. Will it go to #1 here? Time will tell.

Of course for everything that goes up, something has to come down. Owl City's single "Good Time" managed to hold on to #1 for only a week. The track which features Carly Rae Jepsen falls back to #2. It's still a good song and I expect it to hang around in the top 10 for a few more weeks.

Other drops include "Higher Than The Clouds" by Anuhea which peaked at #4 last week and now falls back to #7. Same for The Killers' "Runaways". That track peaked at #5 and this week it drops down to #9.

New to the top 10 this week Bahamas' and his track "Caught Me Thinking". The tracks moves from #12 to #10. It's one of those tracks that is not getting airplay or chart listings anywhere except here... could be a big hit if radio or someone played it.

The other debut song at #20 this week is "Ho Hey" by The Lumineers. I don't know much about the band except the song was a free track from Apple this past May. They kind of sound like Mumford & Sons.

CHART NOTES:

Owl City's "Good Time" which also features the vocals of Carly Rae Jepsen sits at the #1 spot this week after moving up from last week's #2 position. This is the first time that Owl City has made it to #1. This is the 2nd number one song for Carly Rae Jepsen this year as her solo hit "Call Me Maybe" hit #1 earlier this summer. That record just fell off the chart this week. It will be in the top 20 on our upcoming year end chart. Carly Rae had one of the most memorable and played songs of the summer season.

Leaping into the top 5 is Maroon 5, whose latest single "One More Night" shoots from #10 to #3. This is the track's 3rd week on the top 20 and it has already gone from its debut #18 of two weeks ago to #10 to #3. Can anyone see a #1 hit here?

Maroon 5 however does not have the biggest mover on the top 20. That honor goes to Phillip Phillips, whose track "Home" rockets from #19 last week to #10 this week. This is the record's second week in the top 20. Wow!

For the last 3 weeks we had songs shoot into the top 10 and landing at #10 from within the top 20. Maroon 5 and Phillip Phillips are already mentioned. The other record that did this was Jason Aldean's country hit "Take a Little Ride" which shot from #18 to #10 two weeks ago. That record slowed down and is at #7 this week.

You can check out previous weeks' chart runs by going to our blog site.

Only one song makes a debut to the top 20. That goes to No Doubt who return to the charts for the first time in 10 years with their latest track "Settle Down". The single checks in at #19 this week.
